We've been notified that Duke Energy will be performing "equipment upgrades" on Tuesday August 4. The work is scheduled to start around 9:00 am (EST) and to expect power interruptions which could last for approximately 3 hours. During this time our systems and our phones will likely be off-line until they complete the work. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that their work may case.
If you're experiencing a property emergency (such as a broken water line, major electrical issues, etc.) please call the ad line at 727-733-RENT(7368) and leave a detailed message, and someone will get back to you as quickly as possible.
We also want to remind you that while we were spared any impacts from Tropical Storm Bertha, it's important to remember that we're approaching the peak of Tampa Bay's hurricane season, which typically runs from Labor Day (early September) through the end of October. Now is the time to make sure that you're prepared for a weather emergency, just in case.
Items you should have on hand include a battery-powered weather radio, plenty of bottled water (1 gallon of drinking water per person per day), non-perishable foods (and a hand-operated can opener), rechargeable lights, battery operated fans, extra batteries (for your phone, flashlight, etc.), extra medications, items for bathing (wet wipes, soap, etc.), personal hygiene items, a first aid kit, etc. It's also a good idea to have some "emergency cash" available in case the power goes out for a period of time. (ATMs and credit card processing networks might be down if the power is out.)
IMPORTANT REMINDER: NEVER EVER use open flames (candles, etc.) inside your unit if the power is out, so that you don't put yourselves or your neighbors in danger.
Please also make sure to bookmark any important sites that you can quickly get access to information and updates during and after a storm. Sites to consider include Bay News 9 (www.baynews9.com), the Weather Channel (www.weather.com), Accuweather (www.accuweather.com), the National Hurricane Center (nhc.noaa.gov), as well as the local broadcast TV stations including WFLA (NBC), WTVT (Fox), WUSF/WEDU (PBS), WTSP (CBS), and WFTS (ABC).
Please see our Tropical Updates page for more information. It will be updated periodically if we're at risk for impact from developing tropical storms or hurricanes based on weather information provided by the National Hurricane Center and other sources.
